Submarine Tunnels
Boka bay, full of history and monuments, also hides military secrets from Yugoslav times. Our tours offer visit to one of the three secret old submarine tunnels (Rakite, Spilice and Rose) built and used in 1970s by Yugoslav navy.
Tunnels are located along the Lustica peninsula. Purpose of tunnels was for hiding submarines and smaller navy ships from the enemies. The first two tunnels Rakite and Spilice looks the same and are close one to another. They are about 100 meters long, 10 meters wide and about 5 meters depth.

Today tunnels are open and easily visible but during the time they were used they were completely closed and camouflaged. There are rests of the camouflage that imitated rocks around and you will have opportunity to see false rocks above you at the entrance of tunnel that really looks like real rocks. Inside the tunnel you will see doors on the both sides that hides different rooms and connections to the land above.

The third tunnel Rose is located at the end of Lustica peninsula and close to Herceg Novi. This tunnel looks a little bit different than tunnels Rakite and Spilice. Purpose of tunnel Rose was to hide just submarines and was made especially for submarines. Entrance of tunnel is lower and does not have false rocks for camouflage like the first two tunnels. Tunnel is long more than 100 meters, eight meters wide and depth is between five and six meters. Tunnel is very dark but the water inside is always clear and calm even if the sea is rough.
Divers love this tunnel because of always calm water and special underwater life. Between 2003 and 2005 year tunnel was used for electronic music festival and received a several thousand people per night. Unfortunately music created noise to the near town Herceg Novi and festival was stopped.
Use opportunity of our speedboat tour and get back in time. Imagine the way tunnels were made, rooms that are hidden behind doors inside and secret connections with land above. Feel the mysterious atmosphere and intrigue your imagination. Also make unique photos from this unusual place.
